Another sign Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid is as good as done

Real Madrid have been in pursuit of Kylian Mbappé for years, though the chase for the most talented footballer on the planet cooled after his last-second snub in 2022.

However much Mbappé broke Madridista hearts that year, Florentino Pérez never felt quite as betrayed because Mbappé did reach out to the Real Madrid president before ultimately choosing PSG’s unprecedented offer.

The Real Madrid locker room, likewise, didn’t fault KM as much for making a personal, business decision in his best interests, though, some may argue, time has proven that the move didn’t exactly work out well for the young French striker.

Now, it seems like Mbappé will finally make his way to the Santiago Bernabéu, having delayed a transfer that was seemingly written in the stars.

All these years later, Mbappé still does not have a Champions League or Ballon d’Or to show for his time in Paris under a Qatar-led project that never quite delivered on what they said they would.

RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins offers the latest update that seems to point to an Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid transfer being as good as written in pen.

Per Hawkins, PSG have no intention of trying to convince Mbappé to stay like they did in 2022. PSG do not think Mbappé will change his mind this time around.

So much has happened between 2022 and 2024, whether it be letters to PSG’s president or changes in the stars around him, such as Lionel Messi and Neymar leaving (and coming in the first place, in Messi’s case).

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are in position to win LaLiga and among the favorites for the Champions League, having only won the Copa del Rey in 2022/23.

They added a Galactic player potentially on a level above even Mbappé, bringing in Jude Bellingham for 100 million euros from Borussia Dortmund.

He will be another elite, team-first player for Mbappé to benefit from and clearly several calibers above the teammates Mbappé has been held back by in Paris over the last few seasons.
