Ankle Injury To Sideline Hierro For A Month

Real Madrid have been rocked by the news that their captain and defensive inspiration Fernando Hierro could face a month on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

The 34-year-old would miss the opening two matches in the second group phase of the Champions League and the forthcoming huge matches with Real Sociedad and Barcelona in La Liga.

Hierro sprained his right ankle during Tuesday's 1-1 draw away to Genk. Real Madrid have revealed on their website that they expect to be without their rock for three to four weeks.
