Angel Di Maria: Real Madrid Must Keep Looking Forward In The Champions League

Real Madrid midfielder Angel Di Maria has praised the hard work his team-mates displayed in defeating Lyon 3-0 on Wednesday evening in the Champions League.

The Argentina international admitted the French side did not make thing easy for the Blancos, but was confident the Spanish giants would progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.

"It was not an easy match at all, but I think we played at a very good level," the 23-year-old told Goal.com Spain after the match. "Until Marcelo's goal, it was hard for us, and then after that, it seemed as if things were getting more and more difficult."

"But overall, it has been a good match for us."

Di Maria denied the Merengues had an easy Round of 16.

"I don't agree with those who may think that it has been an easy round for us," he continued. "The thing is that we played really really good today."

"With these players and this coach [Jose Mourinho], we knew we could make it in the next round. We knew it before the match. And now we just have to look forward to the next game," concluded Di Maria.
