Ambitious Leeds to trump Real Madrid for Milito

Leeds United are planning to trump Real Madrid for Independiente defender Gaby Milito.

The 21 year-old centre-half was the subject of a loan bid from Real last month, but both he and his representatives rejected the move as they are seeking a permanent transfer out of Argentina.

Independiente are asking £5 million for the youngster and both Leeds and Real are expected to bid for Milito in January.

Leeds have been following the player's progress for almost 12 months.
