Alvaro Arbeloa has returned to training for Real Madrid and barring setbacks, is on course to return for Los Blancos when they take on Real Valladolid at the Bernabeu on October 18, according to AS.
The former Liverpool right-back has not played for Madrid since the 5-2 UEFA Champions League win over Zurich and has been kept out of the side by a combination of a knee injury and the return of Sergio Ramos from injury.
Arbeloa trained alone on Wednesday as Manuel Pellegrini oversaw a small group session at Los Merengues training ground in Valdebebas and is now expected to be in contention for a starting place for Madrid's next game in 10 days time.
Both Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Guti trained separate from the main group in the gym while Royston Drenthe sat out the session due to a bout of gastroenteritis.
Fernando Gago, who is also ruled out of training due to injury, has been allowed to return to Argentina while he recovers.
