Alcoyano draw Atletico Madrid in King's Cup

Third division giantkillers Alcoyano, who knocked out Primera Liga side Real Mallorca in the previous round, have drawn Atletico Madrid in the fourth round of the King's Cup.

Alcoyano, from just outside Alicante on Spain's east coast, stunned the 2003 Cup winners 4-1 on Thursday, and were one of five third division sides to make Friday's draw along with Baza, Burgos, Hospitalet and Zamora.

Alcoyano will fancy their chances against an inconsistent Atletico, who were less than impressive in overcoming third division Las Palmas 1-0.

Former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman rescued Atletico with a goal four minutes from time.

Burgos have drawn Cadiz, after they edged out Racing Santander 1-0, and Baza, who beat Malaga on penalties, will play the Primera Liga's fourth-placed club Celta Vigo.

Hospitalet, who came from 2-0 down to overcome second division Gimnastic 4-3 with an injury-time winner, have drawn the 23-times Cup winners Athletic Bilbao. Zamora eliminated Real Sociedad on penalties and now face second division Eibar.

The 2004 Cup winners Real Zaragoza needed penalties to get past Alicante, and have landed a tricky tie against second division leaders Xerez.

The Primera Liga's third-placed side Getafe will play second division Lleida. .

The one-off games are to be played on Nov. 9.

Sides with players called up for international duty the following weekend can ask to have their game moved to Nov. 30.

The nine Primera Liga sides who have competed in Europe this year do not join the competition until the next round in January.
