Agent reveals Real Madrid came close to signing Inter Milan's Maicon

The agent of Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon admits a move to Real Madrid was definitely on this summer.

Antonio Caliendo revealed: "For Inter, Maicon was at risk. When Real Madrid said they had 300 million euros to be invested in the market, the possibility of seeing the Brazilian full-back with the Merengues shirt was very likely."

"But then, (Inter president) Massimo Moratti has set the price, €40 million, and the deal was blown."
