Agent: Real Madrid's Morientes could still join Spurs

Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes could join Tottenham on a permanent deal in the summer.

Spurs failed with a loan bid for Morientes last week, but Colin Gordon, who acted as a go-between for the two clubs in the negotiations says the striker could move to White Hart Lane at the end of the season.

Gordon, who works for London-based Key Sports Management group, said: "There isn't an option to buy Morientes until the summer as Real need him for their season."

"They are second in the Primera Liga and still fighting in the Champions League."

"But there may be an opportunity for Tottenham in the summer."

Morientes' contract runs out in 2006, but Spurs are expected to make a move for the Spanish international in June if they qualify for Europe.
