Agent offers Ballack to Real Madrid

The agent of Michael Ballack has urged Real Madrid to make an offer for the Bayern Munich midfielder.
 
Michael Becker contacted Real Madrid this week to alert them to Ballack's keen interest in moving to Spain this summer. Real are interested in Ballack, but only as an alternative to No1 midfield target Julio Baptista, of Sevilla.

While the Brazilian has flourished as a striker at Sevilla, Real chiefs believe his versatility can win him a place in coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo's midfield.

While welcoming Becker's approach, Real are suspicious of the agent's motives. Marca says some inside the Real boardroom are convinced it is only a ploy to force Bayern into upping their terms over new contract negotiations.
