Agent of Chelsea, Man Utd target Salgado warns Real Madrid

Real Madrid will give fullback Michel Salgado until the end of the month to accept a new contract offered after talks on Tuesday.

Salgado's agent, Gines Carvajal, met with Real sports director Jorge Valdano and president Florentino Perez on Tuesday evening and was tabled the club's contract offer for the defender.

Yesterday, Carvajal said on local radio: "Michel Salgado is prepared to sacrifice some of his money to stay at Real Madrid. But he insists that negotiations aren't done through the mass media."

"He's disappointed that the club has chosen to make public comments on his situation."

Chelsea and Manchester United are waiting in the wings to speak with Salgado, whose current deal runs out in the summer.
