Agent in Real Madrid talks as Makelele closer to Chelsea

The agent of Real Madrid midfielder Claude Makelele is expected to confirm publicly the interest of Chelsea over the weekend.

Marc Roger yesterday flew to Palma de Mallorca in the hope of meeting Madrid's president, Florentino Perez.

Real are refusing to meet Makelele's demands of an improved contract and instead are ready to do business with Chelsea over a £7 million deal.
