Acuña 40 yarder sinks Real

Real Madrid lost 2-1 to Zaragoza on Sunday evening, with Toro Acuña getting a dramatic injury-time winner against Vicente del Bosque's side.

Madrid took a grip of the game from the kick off and dominated play for the first 20 minutes but despite having the majority of the possession, they never really threatened the Zaragoza goal.

The home side took the lead after 23 minutes when a delicate cross from Juanele found Yordi, who rifled into the top-left corner at the far post.

The opener spurred Zaragoza to go in search of a quick second and the visitors were left very much against the ropes for the remainder of the half.

The biting cold conditions did not make it any easier for Vicente del Bosque's side to pick up their game in the second half but they managed to level the score, completely out of the blue, just before the hour mark.

Raul diverted in a seemingly harmless Geremi shot at close range - the strike was Real Madrid's 4,500th goal in La Liga.

They tried desperately to get a second goal but could not make any headway against a stubborn Zaragoza side.

Acuña then outrageously sealed the game for Zaragoza with a jaw-dropping effort, lobbing Iker Casillas from 40 yards out with the ball dipping in just under the bar.

The win means Zaragoza get their revenge on Real for last summer's Super Copa defeat. The result is a huge blow for the Merengues, who drop down to 11th place in the table.
