AC Milan table offer for Real Madrid's Van Nistelrooy

AC Milan are closing in on Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

DiarioSport says Van Nistelrooy is the 'mystery' centre-forward that AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi declared this week they were signing along with Barcelona ace Ronaldinho.

Milan representatives made a £4 million bid last week in a meeting with Real sports director Pedja Mijatovic and the offer remains under consideration.

Van Nistelrooy is happy with developments as he wants to become the first player to be crowned top scorer in four different European competitions.
