AC Milan assure fans that Kaka will stay at San Siro

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani on Thursday assured the club's fans that their Brazilian star Kaka will not be leaving the San Siro.

Widely regarded the world's best player of the moment, talented playmaker Kaka has been chased by Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon for months and rumours of an impending transfer continue.

But Galliani is in no doubt the 25-year-old Brazil international will not be heading for the Spanish champions.

"I can assure that Kaka is absolutely not for sale. It's my word of honour and it's the word of president (Silvio) Berlusconi, too," Galliani said on AC Milan's website.

Galliani made his pledge as he thanked the 30,000 AC Milan supporters who have already bought season tickets to see the European champions play next season.

Kaka's current contract with AC Milan, which reportedly brings the Brazil international 5.5 million euros a year, ends in 2011.

According to Italian media reports, Real's persistent interest in Kaka will force AC Milan to improve the Brazilian's contract before the new Serie A season begins.
