AC eye Real flop Baljic

Real Madrid’s Elvir Baljic may be poised to join Milan – a move that would open the door for Jose Mari to return to Atletico Madrid next season.

Baljic is looking for a new club after been told by Real coach Vicente Del Bosque that there is no place for him in the current squad.

The Bosnian, who spent last season out on loan to Fernerbahce, has attracted attention from a number of clubs including Paris Saint Germain, AC Milan, Fiorentina, Napoli and Real Sociedad. But team coach Fatih Terim's offer to take Baljic off Real's hands would surely allow ex-Atletico idol Jose Mari a chance to return to Spain to join his former club.

Atletico coach Luis Aragones is keen to add Jose Mari to his squad but talks between the Rojiblancos and the player's agent Fermin Gutierrez regarding the operation have frozen in the last few days.

Atletico have Barcelona's Alfonso Perez as a second option should they fail to tempt Jose Mari back for their second season in the Second Division.

But if Milan land Baljic and Jose Mari ends up signing for Atletico, then Alfonso may be left with no option but to agree to join Zaragoza for the new season, as his opportunities in Barca are limited.
