€85 million-rated Real Madrid star seen as an ‘untouchable’ in midfield

Tchouameni has not only been rock-solid in defence but also boasts superior ball circulation and threat in attack. The latter is best exemplified by his goal against Girona.

Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham also make strong cases for being untouchable candidates for Los Blancos in the middle of the park. For Tchouameni’s name to emerge above the aforementioned duo goes to show his influence on the team.

Carlo Ancelotti has been forced to rotate his squad amidst the hectic schedule. The manager opted to rest Tchouameni in the all-important Madrid derby last month, and the result sheet speaks for itself.

Real Madrid lost the game 3-0 and appeared lost in the middle of the park. With their primary pivot on the bench, Los Blancos failed to stop their local rivals on the break and never really regained control of the situation.

Real Madrid were unhappy with several decisions made by Ancelotti in the derby, one of which was his call to bench Tchouameni.
