£34M Beckham deal on for Barcelona

David Beckham's proposed move to Barcelona is back on after presidential candidate Joan Laporta won the club's elections on Sunday evening.

Laporta had a bid for the England captain accepted by Manchester United and now after being elected president, will be seeking to discuss personal terms with Beckham, who is now back in England after a summer break.

Beckham has indicated he would prefer to sign with Real Madrid, but Laporta insists he can convince the 28 year-old to choose the Nou Camp.

United are expecting a straight cash offer of £34 million - including bonuses - for the England ace.
