20-year-old Real Madrid starlet will be a regular starter in midfield next season

Real Madrid are in a tricky spot with their forward line at the moment. Having lost four players in recent weeks, they are in throwing the kitchen sink to rejuvenate the department.

Yet, their situation in midfield is the polar opposite. Carlo Ancelotti has a gold mine of talent competing for just three starting spots heading into the new season, and the next burning topic thus appears to be how the manager will accommodate so many stars.

According to reports from Jose Felix Diaz via Blanca Remontada, Eduardo Camavinga is seen as worthy of a regular starting spot next season. The youngster enjoyed an imperious 2022/23 campaign, and is set to reap the rewards of the same.

The past year has seen the Frenchman turn around his situation in grand style. From a position of relative anonymity, Camavinga has made himself a household name and will only go to greater strengths next season.

The 20-year-old made 37 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid in 2022-23, providing one assist and creating two big chances in the process. Yet, one much remember that most of his season elapsed as a backup left-back in place of Ferland Mendy.

Having proven his worth both as an interior midfielder and a pivot in recent times, it remains to be seen which position Ancelotti considers him a regular at. The pivot, it would appear, is more likely.

The spotlight now falls on the Real Madrid manager. With Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, and Jude Bellingham all fighting for just two spots, there will likely be some unhappy faces at the Bernabeu next term.

Having signed Bellingham for a mammoth fee, it is only natural that the manager gives him regular minutes from the get-go. That considered, it appears likely that Modric and Kroos will play subdued roles in the 2023/24 campaign.
