Real Madrid boss Ancelotti pleased with goalscorer James in Super Cup
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti admits Atletico Madrid have the advantage after the first-leg of their Super Cup tie finished 1-1.
Atletico now return to the Vicente Calderon with a slight advantage.
Real pushed ahead in the 81st minute through James Rodríguez's first goal for the club, a deflected effort from close range following a bit of pinball in the Atleti box.
The 'Rojiblancos' drew level seven minutes later thanks to Raúl García's clever far-post flick following an inswinging corner that evaded everyone at the near post.
Ancelotti said: “They have a slight advantage because we have to score in the Calderón. We’re going to try and score goals there. If we can repeat today’s match we’ll win the Supercup of Spain."
“The team played well. In the first half we did not have a huge amount of pace but in the second we did very well. We controlled the match throughout, pressing up front and played well. The three midfielders did very well."
On James, he added: "He did well. In the second half the team played at a higher pace and with more intensity. He scored his first goal for Real Madrid and that gives him confidence."
