Real Madrid skipper Casillas: Rayo Vallecano deserve credit

Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas paid tribute to Rayo Vallecano after yesterday's 1-0 win.

Rayo pushed Real all the way at Vallecas.

"Rayo deserve a lot of credit because they did very well and we found it very hard to defeat them. They had several chances on goal, especially in set pieces, but we also deserve credit because it was hard to take three points. Cristiano's amazing goal is very important to us," said goalkeeper Casillas.

"This was our hardest game this season. We had a rough time. The venue and the time make this sort of game very difficult... But Real Madrid played very well, defending solidly and taking three points that may be worth a league title."

"The coach wanted to motivate us in set pieces so that we kept our position and didn't lose focus."
