President Perez hails "heroic" Real Madrid
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was proud of his "heroic" team after last night's Copa del Rey elimination by Real Zaragoza.
Real Madrid thumped Zaragoza 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu, but it wasn't enough to overturn the 6-1 deficit from the first-leg played last week.
"The fans deserve ten out of ten," said Perez. "They came here willing us to win and showed a passion I can't remember seeing before."
"It has been a magical and heroic night. Winning is important, but also what happened tonight was very important for this club."
He added: "I must congratulate the players because they have delivered a huge attacking performance and they have returned to create a great image for this club. All this is worth much to us in order to confront the Liga and the Champions League."
