Transfer rumours

Real Madrid plan to make two more signings after Mbappe this summer

Soon after their triumph in the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund earlier this month, Real Madrid officially announced the signing of Kylian Mbappe.

Without divulging much details, Los Blancos confirmed that there is an agreement in place to sign the French superstar as a free agent, bringing an end to a transfer saga that has been dragging on for years.

With Mbappe’s arrival, Real Madrid have taken their squad, already a top-notch one, to the next level. However, the reigning champions of Spain and Europe are still not done.

Indeed, according to journalist Alberto Pereiro, Los Blancos intend to make at least two more signings after the arrival of Mbappe.

And, as things stand, the idea is for those two signings to be Leny Yoro of LOSC Lille and Bayern Munich speedster Alphonso Davies.

With Nacho Fernandez departing and Rafa Marin also set to be sold, Real Madrid need to bring in a new centre-back and everything indicates that player will be Yoro.

The 18-year-old is already understood to have an agreement in place with Los Blancos, although negotiations with his club are proving to be tricky at this point.

Meanwhile, Davies is seen as the top target for the left-back position even though Real Madrid have Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia as options.

Despite recent reports suggesting that the Merengues have cooled down their pursuit of the Canadian, that is not the case and the club still remain intent on securing his services from Bayern Munich.

If Davies does arrive, it could pave the way for one of Mendy or Garcia to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have also lost Toni Kroos following his retirement after the UCL win, but as things stand, there are no plans to actively search for a replacement for the German icon.

Similarly, even though Joselu is set to be on his way to Qatar imminently, Los Blancos do not intend to sign a replacement.

After all with the arrivals of Mbappe and Endrick, the attacking department appears to be more than well-equipped heading into the new season.
