Real Madrid captain Raul has broken the club's appearances record after appearing in last night's 2-0 win at Villarreal.
Raul clocked his 525th appearance for Real, surpassing Manuel Sanchis, and said: "I'm happy, it was a major victory for the team and that is how we must stay. These are three important points at a difficult ground like the El Madrigal."
"I'm happy because there are three games per week and we are playing at a good level."
"On a personal level I am satisfied with this record - to become the player to have worn the white shirt the most number of times - and happy, but with my mind on the next match."
On Cristiano Ronaldo, who celebrated his goal by rushing to hug Raul on the Real bench, the skipper added: "Cristiano is in great form and hit a great goal. Again, I'm happy with how things are going for him."
"He's a good kid."
