The quality and potential of Real Madrid academy graduates have earned them an acclaimed reputation worldwide.
While these players often face challenges in securing significant playing time at Real Madrid due to the club’s high standards and competitive squad, their talent seldom goes unnoticed.
Many who struggle to break into the first team still go on to build respectable careers, as La Fabrica graduates are highly sought after by other Spanish clubs.
Now, according to SPORT, newly-promoted club Espanyol are on the verge of signing Pablo Ramon and Alvaro Rodriguez from Real Madrid Castilla.
The deals for both players are in advanced stages, pending the formula of the transfer (loan or permanent move with buyback option) and confirmation from the players themselves.
In fact, the sporting director of Espanyol, Fran Garagarza, recently stated in a press conference that their relationship with Madrid is positive.
"With Espanyol in the First Division, more operations can be carried out. There is a closer predisposition because we are in the First Division," he said.
Rodriguez striker famously scored the equalizer in the derby against Atletico Madrid during the 2022/2023 season, marking his first appearance with the Merengues’ first team on an incredibly high note.
Last season, he participated in 34 games in the Primera RFEF past season for Real Madrid Castilla, tallying 10 goals and notching two assists. He featured twice for the senior team.
While he showcased immense potential, Real Madrid are spoiled for choice in the front-line, having recently just bolstered their ranks with Kylian Mbappe and Endrick.
As such, carrying out Rodriguez’s sale this summer would be best for all parties involved.
As for Pablo Ramon, the 23-year-old defender spent the last season on loan at Mirandes and will now move on again with no chances of breaking into the senior setup.
