Real Madrid will announce the signing of 16-year-old Br azilian starlet Vinicius Junior from Flamengo in the coming days.
The clubs had attempted to keep the deal quiet until the end of the La Liga season, but Br azilian outlet Globoesporte have announced an agreement has been reached.
Flamengo and Real Madrid have reached an agreement worth £38million for the forward, who will pitch up in the Spanish capital in July 2018 when he turns 18.
The deal is to be officially announced by the clubs on either Monday or Tuesday next week. The Spanish giants will pay two-thirds of the player's termination clause in his contract after Flamengo extended his current deal from 2019 to 2022.
Vinicius has turned out only twice for Flamengo but attracted the attention of several European clubs after his performances for Br azil in the Under-17 South American Championship earlier this year.
The forward is by no means the finished article, however, but his national boss Carlos Amadeu erred on the side of caution when discussing his future in the game.
When describing the youngster, Amadeu said: "He's a promise, but we shouldn't go overboard."
"He's a good kid, but he has a lot of mistakes to make and I just hope people are patient with him. If he stays focused despite all the glamour surrounding him, he can get to a really high level."
The player has been surrounded with inevitable comparisons to Robinho, Neymar and now Gabriel Jesus as he looks to follow in their footsteps away from his native Br azil.
