Real Madrid defender Danilo will reportedly undergo surgery next Thursday to correct a long-standing ankle problem.
According to Marca, Danilo had spent the final months of last season nursing pain but opted to push back his operation until the summer as he did not want to leave his Madrid teammates.
Although the surgery is considered minor, it is nonetheless important for the right-back to start the season at 100 percent.
The doctor carrying out the procedure will be ankle specialist Niek van Dijk, who has treated the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo and possibly Keylor Navas, the goalkeeper currently suffering from an Achilles injury.
Danilo made 31 appearances for Madrid in 2015-16, his first campaign since arriving from Porto for €31.5m, but was criticised for a series of poor performances and failed to make the Br azil squad for Copa America due to his complaint.
