Japanese sensation Takefusa Kubo will return to his former club Real Madrid next summer only if his demands are met.
According to a report by Fichajes, Real Madrid are keen on having Takefusa Kubo in their ranks for next season. Los Blancos are looking to resign him next summer from Real Sociedad. But, the player has made it clear that he will return to his former club on certain conditions.
Kubo came through the ranks at FC Tokyo and made quite a name for himself. The 22-year-old winger was one of the brightest prospects from Japan and there was a lot of interest in his services. Real Madrid were keen on having him in their ranks and they managed to sign him in the summer of 2019.
But, his move to Los Blancos didn’t really go according to plan. He did not get much game time and was often subject to a loan move elsewhere. Finally, the Spanish giants parted ways with the 22-year-old last summer. They sold him to Real Sociedad for just €6.5 million.
While they did let him leave on the cheap, Madrid placed a clause in that deal. The team in white have an option to buy back the player for just €30 million which is half of his termination clause (€60 million) at Real Sociedad.
Kubo has taken his game to another level in the ongoing season. The right winger has featured in eight league games and has contributed towards six goals. He has been on fire and his performances have forced Real Madrid to think about bringing him back to the club.
Los Blancos are expected to push for attackers next summer and the 22-year-old is a part of their list. They are serious about bringing him back to the club. But, the player has laid down his conditions before returning to his former club.
Kubo wants assurances that he will have an important role at the club. The Japan international doesn’t want to be another player in the squad, he wants to be an integral part of the first team and will only return if his conditions are met.
While Madrid are keen on bringing him back to the club, they are not the only ones interested in Kubo. Even Manchester United are interested in signing the 22-year-old. Jadon Sancho has had a rift with manager Erik ten Hag. He has been dropped from the first team and is expected to be sold in the near future.
As a result, the Red Devils are desperate to have Kubo in their ranks. Ten Hag is a huge fan of the player and wants him at his disposal but they will have to battle it out with Real Madrid who seem to be in a much stronger position at this point in time.
