Real Madrid are lining up a bid for QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
The Daily Mail says Julio Cesar has emerged as a shock target for Real Madrid.
The Br azilian goalkeeper, 33, has established himself as QPR’s No 1 ahead of Rob Green since joining last summer.
But manager Harry Redknapp could face a fight to keep the shot-stopper, with Jose Mourinho understood to be considering plotting a move.
The Madrid boss is in the market for a keeper after Iker Casillas suffered a broken hand that could rule him out for up to two months - a period that includes the Champions League second-round double-header against Manchester United.
Real are thought to prefer to take Cesar on loan until the end of the season, but the keeper would insist on a permanent switch.
Mourinho knows Cesar well, having worked with him at Inter Milan.
