Jude Bellingham’s name is at the top of the summer shopping list of several elite clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid.
The 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund sensation looks certain to leave Germany in the upcoming transfer window. And he has the choicest of clubs to pick from as Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City are all gunning for his signing, with Manchester United also entering the race.
Amidst this, Fabrizio Romano, has provided an update on Real Madrid’s pursuit of the England international.
As per the transfer expert, Los Blancos are totally ‘obsessed’ with Bellingham.
The reigning champions of Spain and Europe are wary of going after players who did not fit the blueprint of the team, having had bad experiences with Luka Jovic in the recent past.
But, as per Romano, Real Madrid believe that Bellingham is the perfect fit for their project and are thus pushing to sign him up in the summer transfer window.
While Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are still going strong, the next season could potentially be their last at Real Madrid, provided they renew their contracts which expire this summer.
So, it only seems logical for Real Madrid to start preparing for the future. They have already added a few pieces to their midfield puzzle with the signings of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni while Federico Valverde has grown into a key cog.
Bellingham’s capture is now seen as the final piece of the jigsaw to complete the transition in the middle of the park.
The transfer, however, could prove tricky as Borussia Dortmund have steep demands worth around €150 million for their prized asset.
Real Madrid, though, are understood to be reluctant to meet that valuation, which could leave the door open for the Premier League clubs to swoop in and take the former Birmingham City starlet away from the Merengues.
