PSG’s mega star Kylian Mbappe is all set to join Real Madrid this summer, putting an end to a prolonged saga that stretched over many years.
However, the Merengues appear to be keeping tabs on other stars plying their trade for the Parisians, too.
Indeed, the name of Achraf Hakimi has been gaining traction, who interestingly is a former Madrid player and a good friend of Mbappe.
According to AS, Achraf Hakimi’s name has been in discussions in the Madrid camp.
His contract with PSG will expire in 2026, and there have been no talks of a renewal as of now.
In fact, Moroccan full-back, who views Real Madrid as the club of his dreams and where he began his career, has always been open to negotiating.
Reuniting with old acquaintances and having more assurance regarding play time could serve to act as an incentive for the 25-year-old full-back.
Los Blancos presently are content with the performances of Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal in the right-back position and intend to count on the pair next season as well.
While Vazquez’s contract expires this summer, the Spaniard is expected to be awarded an extension very soon.
However, at the age of 32, both players are nearing the final stages of their careers, and Real Madrid will need a young option to eventually walk in their footsteps.
As such, the signing of Hakimi on a reduced fee next year or a free transfer in 2026 would not only bolster the team’s quality; but also ensure a smooth generational shift.
