Real Madrid have planned out their 2024 summer transfer window very carefully, with very specific positions being targeted, and multiple options laid out for each of them.
Their priority is, of course, getting the Kylian Mbappe signing over the line. The Frenchman reportedly has informed PSG about his desire to leave, and will look to complete his dream of playing for Madrid.
Alphonso Davies is another player Madrid want to sign this summer. He will be on the last year of his contract starting this June, and could be persuaded to change sceneries, especially if Bayern Munich’s asking price is met.
Florentino Perez will likely also be in for a centre-back, but the club have decided to postpone their search for a right-back till next summer, as per previous reported.
Several names are on the table, including a certain Achraf Hakimi, as per Sports Zone.
The report claims that Hakimi wants to leave PSG as early as he can, and is not looking to extend his contract with the French giants right now.
PSG, on the other hand, want the Moroccan to continue at the club, and will be offering him an extension on his current deal, that expires in the summer of 2026.
Mbappe was regarded as Hakimi’s closest friend at PSG, which could have something to do with these exit rumours. Further, should Madrid come calling for him, it seems unlikely that he will reject them.
Madrid are not the only team keeping tabs on Hakimi, though. Manchester City are also in the market for a new right-back to take over Kyle Walker, and the 25-year-old PSG defender is one of the names being considered.
PSG paid €60 million for Hakimi in the summer of 2021, and will likely demand a price in that range incase they are forced to sell him this summer or next.
