Police are investigating an alleged racist gesture made by a Mallorca fan towards Real Madrid's Aurelien Tchouameni on Saturday.
Tchouameni scored with a thunderous 48th-minute shot from distance as LaLiga's leaders claimed a 1-0 victory.
As he celebrated his 30-yard screamer, his third goal of the season, with team-mates, TV cameras picked up the supporter making alleged monkey gestures in the background.
The supporter's face was pixellated by the broadcaster but Mallorca are now working with police to identify the culprit.
It comes a year after Mallorca fans were filmed racially abusing Real's Br azilian forward Vinicius Jnr in the same fixture. That led to a fan's membership card being revoked for three years.
"In yesterday's match between RCD Mallorca and Real Madrid, images have been identified in which a person made racist gestures," Mallorca said in a statement on Sunday.
"The club has activated the protocol against violence in football and is collaborating with the National Police in the identification of this person."
Real's players appeared to be unaware of the abuse as they celebrated their goal.
The incident further fuels the debate swirling around racism in Spanish football, with 16 incidents of racist abuse against Real Madrid's Br azil winger Vinicius Jr reported to Spanish prosecutors by LaLiga in the last two seasons.
Earlier in April, Getafe were ordered to partially close their central stand for three matches following racist and xenophobic abuse suffered by Sevilla manager Quique Sanchez Flores and player Marcos Acuna in a LaLiga game.
The same day, a Spanish third-division match between Rayo Majadahonda and Sestao River was suspended after Rayo's Senegalese goalkeeper Cheikh Kane Sarr confronted a rival fan who he said was racially abusing him.
Movistar earlier this week fired analyst German Burgos over comments he made about Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal.
The former Argentina goalkeeper and assistant manager at Atletico Madrid, said "if [professional football] doesn't go well for him, he could end up at a traffic light."
The comment, which has been interpreted as a reference to people who stand at traffic lights asking drivers for money.
Burgos' comment led to Barcelona and PSG refusing to give interviews to the Spanish rights holder after their Champions League quarter-final first leg.
The remark by Burgos was made as 16-year-old Spanish international Yamal, who was born in Spain to Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean parents, did kick-ups during the warm-up and the programme host praised the teenager's skills.
Burgos then apologised saying that 'sometimes humour gets you into trouble' and the 54-year-old later posted a more extensive apology on his social media stressing his 'intention was not to denigrate Lamine Yamal, quite the contrary.'
Real ended the weekend eight points clear of Barcelona at the top of the table and now turn attention back to their Champions League quarter-final showdown with Manchester City.
The tie is nicely-poised at 3-3 ahead of Wednesday night's second leg at the Etihad.
