Marca says Benzema is missing former teammate Lassana Diarra, now of Anzhi, and mentor Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane is no longer involved with the first team squad and instead works with the junior teams.
Countryman Raphael Varane is still at Real, but isn't close to Benzema and is unlikely to be as they share little common interests.
