Primera Liga reports

Brief reports of Primera Liga matches played on Sunday:

DEPORTIVO CORUNA 2 REAL SOCIEDAD 0

Two goals in the last seven minutes earned Depor a win and piled the pressure on Real Sociedad who slipped to the foot of the table with one point.

Defender Antonio Barragan put Depor in front in the 83rd minute with a curling a left-footed shot into the top corner and striker Riki doubled the lead with a fine run and shot from a tight angle, two minutes from time.

ESPANYOL 0 OSASUNA 0

The visitors dominated this dull game without really threatening and the final result did little to help either side.

RACING SANTANDER 1 CELTA VIGO 1

Racing's imposing Serbian striker Nikola Zigic scored with a header from a corner in the 24th minute but Celta levelled when Br azilian midfielder Iriney drilled in a low shot off the far post in the 56th.

Racing had defender Oriol sent off at the end but still had the chance to earn their first win of the season when Zigic was felled in the area for a penalty soon after. Cristian Alvarez blasted his spot kick against the woodwork.

REAL MADRID 1 ATLETICO MADRID 1

Atletico striker Mista put the visitors ahead after just six minutes, profiting from Maxi Rodriguez's knock down, but Raul equalised when he arrived at the far post to score from Guti's deep cross with a sidefoot shot.

Real had defender Sergio Ramos sent off in the 62nd minute for his second bookable offence, and Atletico's Argentine striker Sergio Aguero had two great chances to wrap up the win but failed with both.

REAL MALLORCA 1 VILLARREAL 2

Two defensive errors from Mallorca gifted Villarreal their first away win of the season.

Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan scored from a miscontrolled ball from Mallorca's Fernando Varela after 21 minutes, and Forlan was left unmarked to head the second from Jose Mari's deep cross four minutes later.

Mallorca pulled a goal back when midfielder Bosko Jankovic volleyed home a poor clearance from a corner in the 58th minute.

REAL ZARAGOZA 2 LEVANTE 2

Levante midfielder Diego Camacho scored with a spectacular volley after 22 minutes to put the home side ahead, and a minute before the break Felix Ettien beat his man to cross from the right for an unmarked Olivier Kapo to score at the near post.

Zaragoza started the fightback when Argentine Pablo Aimar pulled the ball back for Albert Celades to fire in a low shot after 60 minutes.

Argentine striker Diego Milito levelled with 11 minutes remaining after compatriot Andres D'Alessandro's shot hit the post.

RECREATIVO HUELVA 2 REAL BETIS 0

Promoted Recre continued their impressive start to the season, taking all three points from Andalucian rivals Betis with two late goals.

French striker Florent Sinama Pongolle headed Javi Guerrero's cross home in the 84th minute, and four minutes later Guerrero's shot on the counter squirmed under Betis keeper Toni Doblas.

SEVILLA 1 GETAFE 0

After their 12-match winning streak in all competitions ended at Atletico Madrid last Sunday Sevilla resumed their challenge at the top with a tight win over Getafe.

Br azilian striker Luis Fabiano scored the only goal of the game after 31 minutes, steering Renato's low cross into the net from close range.

VALENCIA 4 GIMNASTIC 0

Former Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes set Valencia on their way, slotting David Villa's low cross in at the near post in the 13th minute.

Villa added the second from a well-worked free kick move in the 53rd, and was on hand to roll the ball into an empty net after Jaime Gavilan beat the offside trap in the 78th.

Forward Miguel Angel Angulo collected a loose ball after Edu's attempted lob had been parried, and drilled the fourth seven minutes from time, as Valencia kept pace with Barcelona.

Played Saturday:

ATHLETIC BILBAO 1 BARCELONA 3

Champions Barcelona were rocked by Fran Yeste's superb volley in the 11th minute but were let off the hook when Bilbao were reduced to 10 men eight minutes later, as Javier Casas was harshly sent off for fouling Iceland striker Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Barca looked jaded and slow until Bilbao defender Ustaritz stabbed Gudjohnsen's cross into his own net a minute before the break, and after 61 minutes Gudjohnsen made the most of Xavi's clever pass to put the visitors ahead.

Argentine striker Javier Saviola came on for Gudjohnsen and with 13 minutes remaining finished off a flowing move with a low shot from the edge of the area.
