Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring 19-year-old Fulham attacking sensation Fabio Carvalho, who is also attracting interest from Premier League giants.
According to a report by Daily Mail, Real Madrid are the latest big club to have shown an interest in Fabio Carvalho. The 19-year-old Fulham attacking sensation is also the subject of several big-name Premier League clubs, with the Cottagers at risk of losing their prized prodigy.
Fabio Carvalho joined the Fulham academy from Balham in 2014 and has since gone on to grow leaps and bounds at the London outfit. The teenage prodigy made his first-team debut early in the 2020/21 season before being given a few more opportunities here and there. At the onset of the ongoing season, though, the player has become a regular for the Cottagers.
In fact, Carvalho has made quite a solid start the 2021/22 campaign, scoring thrice while providing an assist as well in just five appearances in the Championship. His progress since making his Fulham debut has not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid joining a bevy of Premier League giants in pursuit of the 19-year-old.
A versatile attacker, Carvalho can play out on the flanks or as an attacking midfielder, which is why Real Madrid could be interested in him. While Los Blancos‘ primary target remains Kylian Mbappe, it is important to note that Marco Asensio was linked with a potential summer exit and is currently in a precarious situation at the club.
Furthermore, Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale appear to be in a make or break campaign, so there is a feeling that a move for another attacking player in addition to Mbappe might just be a step in the right direction. So, it is not hard to see why Real Madrid are closely tracking the 19-year-old’s progress.
However, the Merengues are not the only club showing an interest in Carvalho. Apart from Real Madrid, there are a number of “top ten” Premier League clubs that are keeping tabs on the teenage prodigy, which could have a base to it, considering Chelsea were recently linked with him.
Even Leeds United and West Ham United have been showing an interest in the 19-year-old, who is going places already. For now, Carvalho is going from strength to strength at Fulham and it remains to be seen if Real Madrid choose to launch the offensive for him anytime soon.
