Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez wants to bring Bolton Wanderers midfielder Ivan
Campo to Anfield.
The Telegraph says Benitez wants Bolton to include
Campo in the deal that will make El Hadji Diouf's loan into a permanent transfer at the Reebok stadium.
It is understood that Liverpool have already made an approach for
Campo, 30, and have told Bolton that they would be prepared to give them Diouf as well as around £600,000 but have so far been turned down.
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has told
Campo, who has suffered injury problems this season, that he would like the player to see out his contract, which lasts until 2006. However,
Campo favours a move to Liverpool to play under Benitez.
