A former prospect of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, Iker Bravo, has signed for arch-rivals Real Madrid, reports journalist Gerard Romero.
Bravo, now 17, spent the early parts of his youth career at Barça’s La Masia setup and was held in high regard during his time at the Catalan club. The striker managed to break into the club’s Under-16 setup in 2020 but would leave just a year later, signing for Bayer Leverkusen.
Having joined the German outfit last year, the centre-forward showed a lot of promise for their youth teams at the Under-17 and Under-19 levels.
Bravo has three goals in three games for Die Werkself’s Under-17 side, while he racked up a return of seven goals and three assists for the Under-19s from just 14 matches.
The youngster made his senior debut for Leverkusen in October last year but has since featured just once in the first team.
And now, only a year after leaving Spain, the teenage prodigy is on his way back, with Barcelona’s arch-rivals Real Madrid all set to scoop up his signing imminently.
Los Blancos were involved in a tough fight with their local rivals, Atletico Madrid, in the race to sign Bravo from Leverkusen. However, it seems that the current champions of Spain and Europe have triumphed in the battle and will soon be welcoming the 17-year-old on board.
Bravo, once he completes the move, is likely to be a part of Real Madrid Castilla under club legend Raul Gonzalez. It will be interesting to see how the former La Masia ace progresses in the Spanish Capital.
