Real Madrid will demand at least €20 million for midfielder

As reported earlier this week, Dani Ceballos has his heart set on a transfer away from Real Madrid this summer and has made his intentions known to the club.

The 27-year-old Spaniard signed a new contract with Los Blancos only last year, but with opportunities coming at a premium in the season gone by, he is looking for a move away.

Carlo Ancelotti & co. wish to retain Ceballos’ services, especially with Toni Kroos retiring, but the midfielder is leaning towards a departure, with no shortage of suitors either.

Now, SPORT reports that Real Madrid’s bitter rivals Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in signing Dani Ceballos in the summer.

Los Rojiblancos are understood to see the 27-year-old Spaniard as a good fit in their team owing to the qualities he brings to the table.

However, Atletico are not the only La Liga club keen on signing Ceballos as Girona are also looking at the Real Madrid ace.

Having sold Aleix Garcia to Bayer Leverkusen, Michel’s men are on the lookout for a replacement and see Ceballos as an option as they prepare for a season in the UEFA Champions League.

The report further adds that clubs from Italy and the Premier League are also monitoring the wantaway Real Madrid star.

Meanwhile, it has also been suggested that Ceballos’ former club, Real Betis, could also be an option for him this summer.

Ceballos signed a new contract with Real Madrid last year, penning a deal until 2027. As such, Los Blancos are set to demand a transfer fee of at least €20 million for the Spanish ace even though his current market value is around €6 million.

With the likes of Luka Modric, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni ahead of him in the pecking order, Ceballos is unlikely to see much action if he stays.

As such, an exit seems like the natural course of action for the 27-year-old as he seeks regular playing time.
