Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon will perform a major clearout at the end of the season, even if the championship is successfully defended.
DiarioSport says Calderon is convinced the squad has major weaknesses and wants to offload at least eight players in the summer to clear the books and raise funds for new arrivals.
Those in the firing line are Michel Salgado, Mahamadou Diarra, Roberto Soldado, Javier Saviola, Jerzy Dudek, Christoph Metzelder, Julio Baptista and Fabio Cannavaro.
A number of the squad's young players will also be sent away on-loan to develop their games, with Gonzalo Higuain, Marcelo, Royston Drenthe, Javier Balboa and Fernando Gago all under consideration.
