Kylian Mbappe looks good in the royal white Real Madrid jersey, doesn't he?
Well, the Frenchman is not the only player who has had a long-term dream of playing for Real Madrid. In fact, there is one player at the top of his game currently who would also love to join Mbappe in the Spanish capital.
According to a report from Fichajes, Erling Haaland still harbours hopes of playing with Real Madrid. He would love to play alongside the likes of Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. Haaland has never sold a dream to Man City supporters that he will stay, in fact, he even teased last season that nothing is promised and that his immediate focus is not on extending his Man City contract.
Erling Haaland is a goal-scoring machine. It is widely documented that he broke the goal-scoring record in his first season of the Premier League, with many games to spare. The Norwegian international has a knack for scoring goals for fun, which would certainly be a welcomed attriubute at the Sanitago Bernabeu Stadium.
However, it must be said that Erling Haaland could be clinging onto false hope. It is easy to assume the treshold for signing Haaland has passed. After all, there isn't much room for a new striker in the squad, with the competition for places in the front line already heated as it is.
That said, there's believed to be a clause in Erling Haaland's contract which would allow him to leave for a reduced fee in the coming years. Depending on where Real Madrid's situation is at the time of the clause being active, it could be a golden opportunity which the Madrid board has to take.
In short, Real Madrid fans should not anticipate a move for Haaland this summer. However, there is certainly an opportunity to keep an eye on for future transfer windows.
