Real Madrid boast one of the most top-notch midfield departments in football.
Even though Toni Kroos will bid goodbye at the end of the season, Los Blancos still have another world-class veteran in Luka Modric while bonafide stars like Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga.
But the Merengues are always on the lookout to further improve their roster and a new midfielder is expected to be on the agenda for 2025.
Florian Wirtz has been touted as a possible target, but his compatriot and Bayern Munich sensation Jamal Musiala is also being tracked.
Now, journalist Carlos Carpio (via Ruben Martin Twitch) reports that Musiala himself desires to play for Real Madrid.
As per the update, the idea of playing for a club like Real Madrid, with its great history, appeals to the German international more than a club like Manchester City.
As has been already reported, both Real Madrid and Manchester City are great admirers of Musiala and are keeping tabs on him with an eye on the future.
The 21-year-old has been directly involved in 20 goals for Bayern Munich this season, standing out as a positive in a disappointing campaign.
Musiala’s current contract at Bayern Munich expires in 2026, meaning he could be available for a more affordable price next year provided he does not sign a new deal.
Considering that Real Madrid are also tracking Wirtz, it will be interesting to see whether they go after him or Musiala come summer of 2025.
