Injured Real Madrid defender likely to resume ball training after current international break

Real Madrid defender Eder Militao is making significant strides in his recovery, with reports from AS suggesting that his return to ball training could be made possible after the end of the current international break.

The Br azilian centre-back, who suffered a devastating ACL tear earlier this season, could be back on the pitch sooner than expected, potentially featuring in the Club World Cup in June.

Militao’s injury, sustained during Real Madrid’s 4-0 victory over Osasuna, was a massive blow to Carlo Ancelotti’s defensive plans.

The club confirmed that he had torn his ACL for the second time, but this time in his opposite knee, requiring immediate surgery.

Given the severity of the injury, the initial prognosis suggested that he would miss the remainder of the season.

However, in a remarkable turn of events, Militao’s rehabilitation has been progressing at an impressive pace.

After just three months, he has already returned to the pitch, a sign that his recovery is well ahead of schedule. The Br azilian has begun light ball work, showcasing his regained mobility and confidence in his knee.

At Valdebebas, where he is undergoing his recovery programme, Militao has been met with unwavering support from his teammates and the coaching staff.

His dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed, with those around him recognising his relentless drive to return to action as soon as possible.

Despite spending months away from competitive football, Militao remains upbeat, drawing strength from the encouragement of his fellow players, coaches, and family.

While a definitive return date has yet to be set, the Club World Cup in June appears to be a realistic target.

Given the speed of his recovery, Real Madrid will monitor his progress closely in the coming weeks to determine if he can be eased back into action before the end of the campaign.

With Antonio Rudiger and Raul Asencio carrying much of the defensive workload in his absence, Militao’s return would be a massive boost for Los Blancos, adding quality and depth to their backline.

If all goes well, Madridistas could see him back in action just in time for one of the club’s key competitions this year.
