Man Utd ponder knockdown deal for Real Madrid midfielder Diarra

Manchester United are weighing up a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.

AS says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is considering making an offer for the 29 year-old Mali international.

Diarra would arrive at Old Trafford as cover for injury-plagued midfielder Owen Hargreaves.

Ferguson is convinced he can land Diarra for less than £9 million this summer, with the former Lyon ace not in new Real coach Jose Mourinho's plans.
