Real Madrid academy director Ramon Martinez is standing by Castilla coach Jose Manuel Diaz, despite relegation to Segunda B.
Diaz succeeded Alberto Toril in midseason, but was unable to prevent the Castilla from suffering the drop.
There is a push for Juvenil A coach Luis Miguel Ramis to take charge - and even Zinedine Zidane has been mentioned - however, Martinez is eager to stand by Diaz.
The setup is flirting with chaos, with Fernando Morientes deciding to leave his job as Junior B coach and Ramis pushing to be released from his contract to take charge of a team at a higher level.
Martinez will meet with several of the Academy staff, including Diaz, today to consider their options.
