With Real Madrid all set to take on Barcelona in El Clasico next week, Jules Kounde has recently admitted that he is looking to exact revenge on compatriot Aurelien Tchouameni.
Tchouameni himself spoke to the media recently. Although he did not respond to Kounde’s statement, he did talk about his recent milestone, which was achieved against Celta Vigo on Saturday.
The Frenchman reached the milestone of playing 100 competitive matches for Real Madrid, which is quite the feat given that he joined the club only two years ago.
"I want to thank the club, the fans, the president and above all my teammates because it is a dream to play a hundred games here," Tchouameni said (h/t Mundo Deportivo).
The Frenchman went on to offer his thoughts on the recent win over Celta Vigo and how it will be important to keep up the winning momentum.
"I try to win balls back and give them to my teammates. I played a good game and I have to and we have to continue like this," he said.
"We have very important games coming up now: Dortmund, the Clasico in La Liga. We are going to give it our all because we want to win titles," he added.
Although Carlo Ancelotti wasn’t too pleased with Real Madrid’s performance against Celta Vigo, Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe stole the show with their display of brilliance.
Talking about the attacking duo, Tchouameni added, "It’s incredible to play with both of them. They help us a lot on the pitch. They are incredible players and people. It’s a pleasure to play with them."
Tchouameni, meanwhile, was not the only player to reach a milestone in the Celta Vigo game, as fellow midfielder Luka Modric also made history.
The Croatian international became the oldest player to ever represent Real Madrid in a professional game, breaking the record previously held by Hungarian legend Ferenc Puskas.
"He has won the Ballon d’Or and is an incredible player. I would especially like to highlight his humility. He is an example for us and we have to look up to him," he concluded.
