Real Madrid have confirmed that a number of their players including alleged Everton target Isco will be available in the summer.
According to Spanish media reports, Real Madrid are prepared to let a number of high-profile players leave in the summer including Isco, who has long been a reported Everton target.
Five or six veteran players are supposedly available in this summer clear-out as the La Liga giants look to find a way to finance a move for PSG’s Kylian Mbappe.
The former Spanish international Isco is one of those players. He was being heavily linked with the Toffees a few months ago although the story has gone quiet recently.
Isco is an outstanding talent who is versatile, technically excellent and very creative who can also contribute defensively and would no doubt substantially improve the quality of this Blues team if he joined the club.
He’s been a key player for the Los Blancos for a number of seasons and played his part in the glory that the Madrid superclub have enjoyed over the past decade or so.
Carlo Ancelotti knows the player well and presumably would be able to persuade him to come to Goodison Park similar to the deal he helped secure for James Rodriguez.
However, it seemed as though Ancelotti had recently shifted his attention to other more affordable options, especially the Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira.
In addition, with an injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the indifferent form of Richarlison, the Toffees transfer priority should now be an attacking player who can operate in both wide positions and at centre-forward.
Despite these stories, so far Everton have not moved in the January market. It seems as though given the difficult financial situation, getting fringe squad players off the club’s books are a prerequisite to making any new signings.
