Real Madrid have made a very good start to the summer transfer window.
The club have already completed the signings of Jude Bellingham, Fran Garcia and Joselu. Brahim Diaz is also returning after three seasons away on loan with AC Milan and will be pretty much like a new signing as well. And the fans will be hoping for even more fresh faces to join Los Blancos over the coming weeks and months.
One area where Real Madrid have been lacking is their depth. And that was further reduced this summer with the likes of Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Mariano Diaz and Eden Hazard leaving.
One player that they have been linked with for years now is Federico Chiesa. He is considered by many as the most talented Italian player of his generation. And it looks like he will be available for transfer this summer, if the right offer is made to Juventus.
As reported by Calciomercatoweb, Chiesa can actually leave Juventus over the summer. The fee that the Italian giants want for his transfer is €60 million. Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with him.
It remains to be seen if Real Madrid end up making a move for Chiesa or not. At the moment, signing the Italian would be risky though.
He suffered a serious injury during the 2021/22 season and is yet to discover his best form since returning. He also dealt with several niggling issues throughout the course of the recently concluded campaign. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Chiesa scored 4 goals and provided 6 assists in 33 appearances last season.
There is no doubt about Chiesa’s talent. But one has to wonder if that injury is set to have a long-term impact on his career.
