From the past two seasons you could name signings like Luka Modric, Michael Essien (on loan), Daniel Carvajal, Casemiro, and now Isco. As you can see, all of these players are either midfielders or defenders.
Los Blancos have nine midfielders: Sami Khedira, Kaka, Mesut Ozil, Xabi Alonso, Luka Modric, Angel Di Maria, Jose Callejon, Casemiro, Isco - and nine defenders: Raphael Varane, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Fabio Coentrao, Marcelo, Alvaro Arbeloa, Raul Albiol, Nacho and Daniel Carvajal.
Isco, Casemiro and Carvajal are fine additions, but Real Madrid must now stop signing defenders and midfielders.
The Spanish giants need a forward - they only have Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, while Gonzalo Higuain is leaving. Then they have some talented young forwards like Alvaro Morata, and Jese Rodriguez if Real choose to promote him.
But only having three forwards (because Jese isn't officially upgraded yet) is not enough. Even four, with Jese included, is not enough.
Real Madrid have to buy the other targets: Gareth Bale, Edinson Cavani or Luis Suarez. I would also want Real Madrid to go back to trying to get Sergio Aguero.
Isco is enough, leave Ilkay Gundogan and Marco Verratti alone - and fans stop complaining that you want them; they're not necessary.
Which forwards should Real Madrid sign?
