Javier ‘ Chicharito’ Hernandez could still remain at Real Madrid beyond the summer.
That is the opinion of Spanish football expert Guillem Balague who suggests the Mexican may be purchased permanently by Real when his loan spell from Manchester United is up.
Hernandez looked lost at the Santiago Bernabeu just weeks ago but has struck back with four goals in his past four outings and Balague says he could possibly remain with the European champions if 22-year old forward Jese happens to leave.
"The situation with Hernandez has been interesting. His last four shots on goal have yielded three goals, and all important ones," Balague wrote for Sky Sports.
"The price, 10million euros, doesn't seem a lot of money, but do they back Jese and his progression or keep Hernandez, who would be an obstacle for his progression?"
"It's a decision Real Madrid will have to make, and it may depend on what Jese wants to do. Will he want to accept his role as being behind the front three forwards?"
Chicharito is due back at Old Trafford at the end of the season but it appears likely that Louis van Gaal will offload the 26-year old attacker.
