Brief reports of Primera Liga matches played on Sunday:
GETAFE 1 RACING SANTANDER 0
Bernd Schuster's side continued their perfect start to the season thanks to a well-taken goal from Daniel Guiza, who tucked a low shot past keeper Tono on the hour after controlling a long pass with his chest.
GIMNASTIC TARRAGONA 1 CELTA VIGO 2
Br azilian striker Fernando Baiano gave Celta the lead four minutes into the second half when he bundled the ball in at the far post after a fine cross from Argentine winger Gustavo Lopez.
Former Real Madrid forward Javier Portillo levelled from the penalty spot midway through the half after striker Ariza Makukula was adjudged to have been fouled in the area.
But Baiano's Br azilian compatriot Nene earned the win for Fernando Vazquez's side when he added the finishing touch to a slick counter attack 11 minutes later.
LEVANTE 1 REAL MADRID 4
Ruud van Nistelrooy hit a hat-trick to lead his side to an easy win over nine-man Levante and complete a sorry start to the season for the Valencia-based side who are coached by former Real boss Juan Ramon Lopez Caro.
The Dutchman scored his first league goal in Spain when he scored on the turn in the 17th minute and the lively Antonio Cassano added an opportunist second soon after.
Levante had defender Frederic Dehu sent off two minutes later, but managed to pull a goal back when midfielder Felix Ettien beat Iker Casillas with a low shot before the break.
Van Nistelrooy looked to have missed his chance of a hat-trick when he fluffed an 85th minute penalty, but he atoned for his error with a classy injury-time finish, clipping a first-time shot over keeper Pablo Cavallero.
REAL BETIS 3 ATHLETIC BILBAO 0
Betis skipper Juanito set Javier Irureta's side on the way when he stabbed home from close range after a goalmouth scramble following a free kick in the 19th minute.
Br azilian forward Edu made it 2-0 before the break, steering in at the far post after Francisco Maldonado had outwitted the Bilbao defence with a cheeky backheel and midfielder Capi completed the rout with a neat finish seven minutes from time.
REAL MALLORCA 0 DEPORTIVO CORUNA 0
A dull affair, illuminated only by the contribution of Mallorca substitute Ariel Ibagaza in the second half, but forwards Maxi Lopez and Juan Arango were unable to take advantage of the Argentine's defence-splitting passes.
REAL SOCIEDAD 1 SEVILLA 3
UEFA Cup holders Sevilla continued their impressive start to the season with an authoritative win over Sociedad.
Br azilian midfielder Renato gave the visitors an early lead when he netted following a corner, but they had to wait until 15 minutes from time before Frederic Kanoute took advantage of a defensive mix-up to head home and make it 2-0.
Defender Ivica Dragutinovic made it 3-0 with a thundering 30-metre drive in the final minute. Substitute Inaki Diaz de Cerio's last-gasp strike provided scant consolation for the Basque side.
REAL ZARAGOZA 3 ESPANYOL 0
Argentine playmaker Pablo Aimar put Zaragoza in front late in the first half just seven minutes after his side had been reduced to 10 men with the sending off of defender Leonardo Ponzio.
Espanyol fought back hard after the break, but their efforts collapsed when midfielder Eduardo Costa was dimissed midway through the half.
Zaragoza took full advantage with fine solo goals from Argentine striker Diego Milito and midfielder Oscar in the 81st and 83rd minutes.
VILLARREAL 0 RECREATIVO HUELVA 1
Former Villarreal midfielder Santi Cazorla marked his return to the Madrigal with a neatly taken winner eight minutes from time to leave his former club with just one point from two games.
Played Saturday:
ATLETICO MADRID 0 VALENCIA 1
Valencia ground out a second win in row thanks to an early goal from leading striker David Villa, who stole a march on the Atletico back four to steer home a fine cross from winger Vicente in the seventh minute.
Atletico's new 23 million euro ($29.25 million) signing Sergio Aguero looked lively when he came on at the start of the second half and Valencia appeared to be in trouble when defender Emiliano Moretti was sent off in the 66th minute.
But Atletico's chances of a comeback went up in smoke when striker Fernando Torres followed him down the tunnel 10 minutes later for complaining about a booking.
BARCELONA 3 OSASUNA 0
Leading striker Samuel Eto'o led Barca to a classy victory in their first league outing at the Nou Camp, scoring two and then setting up a third as the Catalans continued their perfect start.
The Cameroon international opened the scoring with just over a minute on the clock when he put the finishing touch to a gleaming passing move involving Ronaldinho and Deco.
He added a second 25 minutes later when he hooked the ball over Ricardo and set up Argentine teenager Lionel Messi for the third before the half was up when he cashed in a mistake by the Osasuna keeper.
